A Message From The Founders
The Montgomery County LGBTQ+ Business Council was proud to announce its official incorporation in July 2017. As often is the case, the genesis of the council was conceived in response to an injustice experienced by one of our founding members with the vision of an organization to prevent similar injustices from happening again in Montgomery County. The reoccurring narrative of discrimination against and lack of equal opportunity in the workforce for individuals in the LGBTQ+ community is an issue we can address.
The Montgomery County LGBTQ+ Business Council was formed in response to the needs of the LGBTQ+ businesses and professionals in our region and will serve as a safe, reasonable and powerful voice for the LGBTQ+ community.
We are experiencing growing name recognition and interest from the LGBTQ+ and mainstream business community in support of our efforts. We now set our sights on growing a diverse and talented board of directors and the important task of strategic planning for the next fiscal year. It is both a challenging and exciting time in our organization—we know the best is yet to come. We will work to bring about a day that we can ensure workplace environments are welcoming and inclusive to individuals regardless of sexual orientations and gender identities. Please join us in our efforts through membership, financial support, volunteerism and advocacy.
